BACK TO THE FUTURE
I’m going home send a message in a bottle
I’m just a sojourner, a mental globetrotter
Right my wrongs ‘cause I can’t solve the worlds problems
What’s the matter with my form talk to Aristotle
Theo-drama God’s Batman and I’m Robin
Down to play the second fiddle, I need more rosin
Pluck the bow and miss the middle now I’m downtrodden
But hitting rock bottom’s way less common
When I’m out of my head and in my kids’ life
Homemade sourdough bread cut me a thick slice
Nothing else sits right, this bread is Christ
Paint a picture perfect day, that’s a still life
If it’s taken it all away, I hope I still fight
I hope I never have a crisis in my midlife
The darkest parts of my mind, I’ve probably been twice
But now I’m breaking out the vise to find paradise
Life’s a memory bank, make a deposit
Saving up remember whens and pull ‘em out when I’m nostalgic
But withdrawals got me hooked like an alcoholic
Sipping gin and tonic, now I can’t stop it
Now I’m melancholic, can we turn back time
DJ play that song one last time
And get the bride and groom in the room again
Can a man try to go back to the womb again?
I’m brand new again, and sure as hell don’t want to lose her
She’s biding time just to pick the right suitor
The early days of married life could’ve been smoother
I wish that I knew this sooner
But I think I got it now, praise God, Alleluia
You can’t stop the clock, time flows through ya
Remember good old days for something newer
I’m looking back to the future
